Rotorua Travel Information

Rotorua is situated in the North Island of New Zealand about 3 hours Southeast of Auckland and just above Lake Tekapo.

Rotorua is famous for its bubbling mud and volcanic craters, this can be enjoyed at any of the thermal areas. You will be blown away by the power and energy of the thermal areas with 2 main geothermal geysers erupting daily.

There are a wealth of things to do and see including fishing on beautiful lakes or by clear backcountry streams, bush and lake walks, some only 5 minutes drive from the central city. Soaking in hot water is one thing locals are famous for. Rotorua is lucky enough to have a variety of hot springs popping out of the ground.

Rotorua is the only known place in the world where you can Zorb. Zorbing is basically rolling downhill in a big plastic ball.
Luging is another of Rotorua's fastpaced activities that can be enjoyed by everyone. Not only do you have an exciting ride down Mt Ngongotaha but you can also view the spectacular scenery.
