Picton is a small seaport located at the head of the Queen Charlotte Sound at the top of the South Island of New Zealand.

Picton is just a short distance across Cook Strait to New Zealand's capital city of Wellington. Daily ferry services link Picton to Wellington making Picton the main South Island gateway for travel between the North and South Islands.

Picton is famous for its relaxed setting with beautiful beaches, easy bush walks and outstanding climate. Close to Picton is the 1500km area of coastline known as the Marlborough Sounds, the Queen Charlotte Track, Dolphin Watching, fishing and peaceful retreats.

The Marlborough area is well know for it's production of wines and olive oils. There are a number of sightseeing and wine tasting tours daily.
